We came to Norway from New York for a family trip across country from Oslo to Bergen in April 2023 and we had booked in for a night at Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to break up the drive. It was our first trip to Norway and had no idea that we were going to have one of the absolute best experiences of the entire trip together there. The place is simply beautiful. The people there are incredibly attentive and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast is world class. The location is stunning. As a personal side note to the owners: My father came to the U.S. from Kongsberg when he was in his very early 20’s and started his new life and family. Growing up in Southern California where my brother and I were exposed to a lot of the antique Scandinavian items, colors, and style. My father was a committed collector at flea markets and swap meets everywhere, and anytime he came across an old collectible related to his homeland, he would proudly bring it home and share the story of it with us, and then find a place to display it in their home. When we came into the main building to check in to our rooms, I told my 17 and 20 year old daughters, “this…this is the story your Grandfather was trying tell us with all those things”.

On a wooded hillside in Morgedal, this hotel offers an indoor swimming pool in the heart of Telemark. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi and the neighboring ski slalom. Everything was on point. The best add were the swimming pool and sauna - for sure! It was a chilly day and we were very tired so swimming, jacuzzi and sauna were like a gift from heaven. :) We were all alone, so it was even better. The breakfast was fabulous, especially baked salmon. The location is perfect, the staff was beyond friendly.

Located only 492 feet from Larvik Train Station, Quality Hotel Grand Larvik offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with private bathrooms and TV. Many rooms feature balcony views of the Larvik Fjord. The breakfast is fantastic! We loved the breads and crisp breads, the cheeses, eggs and roasted vegetables.

Located next to Sandefjord Harbor, this hotel offers free WiFi and free swimming pool access. Scandic Park Sandefjord is 10 minutes' walk from Sandefjord Train Station. Torp Airport is 4.3 mi away. Delicious breakfast, very clean and relaxing pool area

Hotel Kong Carl - Unike Hoteller is located in the coastal city of Sandefjord, 500 ft from Torget Square. It combines old world charm with modern conveniences such as free Wi-Fi. If you are a person of nostalgia as I am, you will definitely love this hotel! All the decorations reflect the old time but at the same time you can enjoy modern comfortableness. The room was beautiful with big windows, and the breakfast was superb. The small town is surprisingly beautiful with a lot of interesting shops. Had we known that earlier, we might have stayed in the hotel for one more days. Very reasonably priced for both the room and dinner.

Located in Gaustablikk, 2.1 miles from Gaustatoppen, Gausta View Lodge provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Lovely place to stay for ski in ski out, nice breakfast across the street, will defiantly stay there again. friendly and helpful staff.

Located in Horten, a 9-minute walk from Rørestrand Beach, RS Noatun has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The breakfast was standard but good. Everything else was great.

Tollboden Hotell - Unike Hoteller features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Kragerø. The property is non-smoking throughout and is located a 8-minute walk from Gunnarsholmen Beach.... Staff were so friendly! The orchard was great, fresh plums and apples. Very unique! Full of history! Yummy bfast. Super comfy beds! My elderly parents were given a better room where the bed wasn't so low to the ground. Thank you,
